Christmas Projects

A friend has been sharing the special activities she’s been doing with her family this holiday season and I’m so glad! We’ve been following her wonderful ideas and have jumped in, as able. This has been a tough round of bronchitis for those who struggle with asthma in our home and it’s nice to have stolen a few minutes to make a few things even though they aren’t ‘the best’ and we found them a bit more challenging than usual! I realized during this process that we have lost something worthwhile with the loss of hand craft time in the late afternoons when I’m teaching or the girls are at lessons. We could all use a bit of time reminding ourselves how to work carefully and patiently while using our own hands to create something worthwhile. We’ll have to take this up during long, snowy weekend afternoons this winter.

Christmas Tree Fun and Suzuki Christmas

We’ve been sick with asthma provoking colds over the last few week and are more than ready for a bit of holiday cheer. We made some progress today as we picked out a live tree for the sun room and enjoyed an informal Suzuki Christmas gathering with my little violin studio.

Big sis, Ann, saved the day all the way from Alabama. We had a mishap with a few treasured (by me) hand me downs ending up and going out in Wednesday’s trash. I have this thing about cute, holiday clothes and was happy to find this hand me down from cousins to take the place of the size 4 gingerbread jumper.

My new favorite picture – and the only way I’ll have stair step girls in the future. Holly is gaining on Hannah!

Holly Turned Eleven!

We kept up with our tradition of decorating for Christmas on Holly’s birthday. It felt early to us this year as we felt like we lost October due to surgery and recover, but it was fabulous to have Holly’s birthday pave the way for holiday season!
